The gadfly petrels are a widespread group of small pelagic birds in the Pterodroma genus. Gadfly petrels that have been observed caught in New Zealand trawl and longline fisheries include grey-faced petrel (Pterodroma macroptera gouldi) and white-headed petrel (Pterodroma lessonii).
In the 2006–07 fishing year, there was no observed fishing in mullet setnet fisheries. No estimates of total captures were made.
