The Indian yellow-nosed albatross (Thalassarche carteri) breeds in the southern Indian Ocean. They are rarely caught in New Zealand fisheries.

In the 2002–03 fishing year, there was no swordfish longline fishing in the Kermadec Islands area. No estimates of total captures were made.
